- 1 12 cups milk
- 14 teaspoon cornstarch
- 18 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons cold milk
- 3 large egg yolks
- 14 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions

1Scald the 1 1/2 cups milk in the top of a double boiler.

2In a separate bowl combine cornstarch, salt and 2 tbsp cold milk.

3Mix well then stir into scalded milk.

4Continue to stir for 3 minutes then cover and let cook for 12 minutes.

5In a separate bowl beat egg yolks.

6Add powered sugar and beat again.

7Then add vanilla and beat again.

8Mix in a small amount of the hot mixture, stirring until smooth.

9Pour into the pan and continue to cook over meduim/low heat for 3 minutes, then pour into a chilled bowl.

10Cover with plastic wrap so that the wrap forms a skin over the custard.

11Serve when chilled, mixing smooth first.
