- 4 c. dry bread, cut in cubes
- 8 c. scalded milk
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 8 eggs, slightly beaten
- 2 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Soak the bread in the scalded milk for 5 minutes.

2Add to this (after the 5 minutes soak) the salt, butter or margarine and sugar.

3Pour the mixture slowly over the eggs.

4Add vanilla.

5Pour into a large, greased baking dish.

6Place dish in pan of hot water.

7Bake at 350° for 50 to 60 minutes.
