Ingredients

  • 1 c. powdered milk
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 c. tepid water
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3/4 tsp. vanilla
  • 3/4 tsp. almond
  • nutmeg for top

Directions

    Brush pie shell with egg white; let dry.

    Preheat oven to 425°. Use lower shelf in oven.

    Mix small amount of water with dry ingredients.

    Beat in eggs one at a time.

    Add the rest of flavoring.

    Pour into unbaked pie shell.

    Bake at 400 for 25 minutes; turn over to 325° until knife inserted on outside edge of custard comes out clean, about 25 minutes.

    Let set and center will finish cooking.

    Sprinkle nutmeg on filling just before you bake.
