Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 1 Tbsp. Knox gelatine
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 3 egg whites
  • 2 c. cream, whipped
  • 1/2 c. nuts
  • 1 box chocolate wafers

Directions

    Bring to a boil sugar and 3/4 cup water.

    Dissolve gelatine in 1/2 cup water and add to sugar syrup and cool.

    Beat egg whites to hold peaks, add cool syrup slowly and beat 20 minutes with electric mixer.

    Fold in whipped cream and nuts.

    Crush wafers; pour half to line bottom of 9 x 13-inch Pyrex dish.

    Pour in filling and cover with remaining crushed wafers.

    Chill at least 2 hours.

    Dessert can also be served in parfait glasses.
