Ingredients
- 2 oz. cake yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 4 c. flour
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. lard
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 c. warm milk
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Work flour, sugar, salt and lard like pie crust.

3Beat egg yolks and milk together.

4Pour yeast mixture into milk mixture and beat well.

5Cover and chill overnight or at least 3 hours.

6Divide dough into 4 pieces.

7Roll out each piece of dough to about 1/4-inch.

8Spread with the 3 egg whites. Sprinkle with brown sugar and spread with your favorite filling (preserves, jam, jelly or nut).

9Fold each piece into thirds (sort of fold over).

10Let rise while oven is heated at 325°.

11Use greased cookie sheets.

12Bake 30 minutes.

13Ice when hot.

14Makes 4 Kringles.
