- 1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 3/4 cup chopped dates
- 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
Directions

1Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating well. Add egg; beat until blended.

2Combine flour, baking powder, and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Stir in dates and crumbled bacon.

3Spoon batter into greased muffin pans, filling two-thirds full. Bake at 400° for 20 minutes.
