Ingredients

  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. chopped dates
  • 3/4 c. melted butter
  • 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 3/4 c. uncooked oats
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Directions

    Combine dates, butter and brown sugar.

    Stir in egg, vanilla, oats, flour, nuts, cinnamon, baking soda and salt.

    Mix together just until dry ingredients are moistened.

    Spread into prepared pan.

    Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown.

    Cut into 2 x 1 1/2-inch bars.

    Store in tightly covered container.
