- 1 (1 lb.) pkg. chopped dates
- 2 tsp. soda
- 2 c. boiling water
- 3 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 eggs
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1/2 lb. margarine
Directions

1Combine dates, soda and water; cool.

2Cream margarine and add sugar gradually.

3Sift flour and salt together.

4Add eggs and vanilla to creamed mixture.

5Blend in flour mixture.

6Add in date mixture and nuts; mix well and pour into greased loaf pans.

7Bake for 1 hour at 325°.
