  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/3 c. butter or margarine
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 2 beaten egg yolks (beat egg whites in separate bowl)
  • 1 to 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. chopped dates
  • 1/2 c. pecans or walnuts, chopped

Directions

    Cream together the sugar and margarine; add the next 5 ingredients except the egg whites, then fold in the beaten egg whites.

    Put mixture into a 9-inch pie shell and bake at 325° for 45 minutes.

    Before serving, may be garnished with a bit of whipped cream.
