- Unsalted butter, softened
- 1 loaf (1-1/2 lb.) cinnamon egg bread
- 2/3 cup golden raisins
- 1-1/2 cup sugar
- 4 cups milk
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup vanilla extract
- 8 eggs, beaten
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
Directions

1Coat the bottom and side of a 2-inch deep baking dish heavily with butter.

2Tear the bread into 1 inch pieces.

3Mix with the raisins in a bowl.

4Spread the bread mixture evenly in the prepared dish, turning crust side down as this tends to burn easily.

5Whisk the sugar, milk, 2 cups whipping cream, vanilla, eggs and cinnamon in a bowl until blended.

6Pour over the bread mixture.

7Preheat the oven to 325F.

8Place the baking dish in a 4-inch deep baking pan.

9Add water to reach halfway up side of the baking dish.

10Bake for 1 hour.

11Remove from water bath.

12Let stand for 20 minutes.

13Spoon into dessert bowls, and serve while still warm.
