- 2 c. sugar
- 1 3/4 c. cocoa
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. milk
- 1/2 c. vegetable oil
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. boiling water
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Grease 2 round pans or a 9 x 11 x 1/2-inch pan.

3In large bowl, combine dry ingredients.

4Add eggs, milk, oil and vanilla.

5Beat for 2 minutes; remove from mixer.

6Stir in boiling water; batter will be thin.

7Pour into pans.

8Bake for 30 to 35 minutes for rounds, or 35 to 40 minutes for other pan, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

9Cool cake completely before frosting.
