1Cut deer steaks into strips about 1 to 1 1/2 inches wide and 3 to 6 inches long.

2Place on cookie sheet; salt thoroughly on side facing up.

3Put in refrigerator for 12 hours.

4After 12 hours, turn strips over and salt again.

5Put in refrigerator for 12 hours again.

6Pepper both sides, more or less to taste.

7Place on grill grate.

8Cook over low heat (225° to 250°) for 6 to 8 hours, or until dry.
