- 3 lb. venison
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1/8 tsp. savory salt
- 1/8 tsp. celery salt
- 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 1/4 c. flour
- 1/2 c. milk
Directions

1Trim roast of all fat and connecting tissue.

2Brown meat in shortening in a Dutch oven.

3Sprinkle with seasonings.

4Place 1 tablespoon soup mix over meat and the remainder in bottom of pan. Pour water around meat and cook, covered tightly, at 325° for 2 hours until tender.

5Remove meat to heated platter.

6Add flour to pan drippings; blend well.

7Add milk; cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.

8Serve with roast.
