- 2 to 3 lb. deer steaks
- salt to taste
- salt (to soak with)
- pepper to taste
- 1 can cream soup (either onion, mushroom or celery)
- 2 Tbsp. oil
Directions

1Let frozen steaks thaw in water.

2Rinse and soak in water for about 2 hours.

3Rinse and examine steaks, cutting off any white elastic like grissle.

4Cover with about 3 tablespoons salt and water.

5Soak for about 2 more hours.

6Rinse and soak in water 1 hour longer (or overnight).

7Place in crock-pot with soup, salt, pepper, oil and water to make pot at least 2/3 full.

8Mix well and let cook on high for about 4 hours or on low about 5 1/2 hours. The longer you soak the meat the better and the slower you cook the meat the better.

9May also add chopped onions.
