- 4 lb. pickling cucumbers
- 2 qt. water
- 2 c. white vinegar
- 1/2 c. kosher salt
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 5 bay leaves
- 1 stalk dill
- 6 cloves garlic, sliced
- 1 hot pepper (optional)
Directions

1Fill 1-gallon size jar with cucumber spears, dill, garlic and pepper.

2Boil water, vinegar, salt, sugar and bay leaves for 3 minutes.

3Cool to lukewarm.

4Cover cucumbers with brine; seal and refrigerate overnight.

5Can be stored in refrigerator without having to seal in boiling water (canning jars).
