Ingredients

  • 1 to 1 1/2 lb. round steak
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/4 c. onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 3 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 1/2 c. tomato sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 tsp. horseradish
  • 1 tsp. prepared mustard
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper

Directions

    Cut meat into 2 inch thin strips.

    Coat with flour.

    Brown meat, onion and garlic in shortening.

    Stir in 1 cup water, tomato sauce, vinegar, horseradish, mustard, salt and pepper.

    Simmer 1 hour.

    Stir in 1/2 cup water; heat through.

    Serve with rice or noodles.
