- 1 cup toor dhal
- 1 small onion,1 clove garlic
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 2-3 chopped tomatoes
- 1/2 tsp chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp vegetable oil
Directions

1put the toor dhal & 3 cups of cold water into a pan & bring to the boil Simmer for about 25 min. until slightly soft. Drain

2Heat the cumin in the oil, add onion, garlic & ginger & fry until the onion has browned slightly.

3add tomatoes & fry until the oil starts to separate. Add the dhal & return to the boil.

4Cook for 2 min.,adding remaining spices & lemon juice. Season & serve with rice
