Ingredients
- 1/2 c. margarine, melted
- 1 Tbsp. liquid sweetener
- 2 c. self-rising flour
- 1 c. chopped nuts or Grape-Nuts cereal (optional)
- 1/4 tsp. clove
- 1 c. chopped dried dates
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 1/2 c. applesauce, unsweetened pineapple, crushed, or mashed bananas
Directions

1Cream margarine, egg and sweetener.

2Add baking powder, spices, flour and (I like pineapple the best) applesauce or pineapple.

3Mix well.

4Fold in dates and nuts.

5(I leave nuts out to save on calories.)

6Bake in loaf pan at 300° for 30 to 45 minutes.

7Spray pan well before pouring batter in pan.

8Cool 10 minutes before removing from pan.

9This cake must be kept refrigerated.
