  • 16 oz. can peaches, diced with juice
  • 5 c. sugar
  • 16 oz. can crushed pineapple with juice
  • 16 oz. can fruit cocktail with juice
  • 8 oz. jar drained maraschino cherries, cut in halves
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 4 egg whites
  • 2/3 c. applesauce
  • 1 c. raisins

Directions

    In a gallon jug, mix together peaches with juice and 2 1/2 cups of the sugar.

    Do not refrigerate.

    Stir once a day for 10 days; on the 10th day, add pineapple and juice and the other 2 1/2 cups of the sugar.

    Stir once a day for 10 days.

    On the 20th day, add the fruit cocktail with juice and the maraschino cherries (do not add the juice of the cherries).

    Stir once a day for 10 days.

    On the 30th day, drain juice from fruit.

    Mix together 1 cup of the fruit mixture, cake mix, egg whites, applesauce and raisins.

    Bake at 325° in a tube pan for 60 to 75 minutes (until done).
