  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1/4 c. lukewarm water
  • 1 c. creamed cottage cheese, slightly heated
  • 1 Tbsp. butter or oil
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. soda
  • 1 Tbsp. minced onion (fresh or dry)
  • 2 tsp. dill seed
  • 1 egg
  • 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 c. flour

Directions

    Soften yeast in warm water for 5 minutes.

    Combine cheese, butter, sugar, salt and soda.

    Add onions, dill seed, egg and softened yeast.

    Beat well to blend thoroughly.

    Add flour; mix well.

    Cover and let rise until double (about 1 hour).

    Punch down and put in a greased loaf pan.

    Let rise 30 to 40 minutes.

    Bake at 350° for 35 to 45 minutes or until crust is golden brown. Brush with butter.
