Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 2 c. cottage cheese, heat to lukewarm
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. chopped onion
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 4 tsp. dill seeds
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 2 eggs
- 5 c. flour
Directions

1Soften yeast in warm water.

2Combine in saucepan the cottage cheese, sugar, onion and butter.

3Place in mixer, dill seed, soda, eggs and softened yeast.

4Add flour to form stiff dough.

5First addition of flour, use mixer on low speed.

6Add cottage cheese mixture to mixer; beat well until batter cleans sides of bowl. Cover and let rise in warm place until double in bulk, 50 to 60 minutes.

7Stir down dough.

8Form and turn in 2 well-greased loaf pans.

9Poke holes with fork in dough.

10This makes a very stiff dough when baked.

11Bake at 350° for 35 minutes.

12Turn out on towel. Butter and sprinkle top with kosher salt.
