Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1/4 c. warm water
  • 1 c. warm, creamed cottage cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. minced onion (optional)
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 or 2 Tbsp. dill seed
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. soda
  • 1 unbeaten egg
  • 2 1/4 tsp. 2 1/4 c. flour

Directions

    Soften yeast in water; combine in mixing bowl the cottage cheese, sugar, onion, butter, dill seed, salt, soda, egg and softened yeast.

    Add flour to form a stiff dough, beating well after each addition.

    Cover and let rise in warm place until light and doubled in size.

    Stir dough down.

    Turn into well-greased 8-inch round 2-quart casserole.

    Let rise in warm place until light.

    Bake in a 350° oven for 40 or 50 minutes.

    Brush with soft butter and sprinkle with salt.
