  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1/2 c. light Karo corn syrup
  • 2 large egg whites
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. pecan halves

Directions

    Mix sugar, corn syrup and water together in heavy 4-quart saucepan. Cook mixture on medium heat, stirring frequently. Cook mixture to hard-crack stage or until the mixture forms wispy hair-like strands when dropped from spoon. This stage usually takes about 30 minutes.
