Ingredients

  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. Karo syrup
  • 2 egg whites
  • 3/4 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Combine Karo, water, salt and sugar in a saucepan; boil to 265°.

    Beat egg whites until stiff, and gradually beat in the boiling mixture; whit until it begins to stiffen.

    Add vanilla and nuts.

    Beat again until cooled somewhat.

    Drop by tablespoon onto waxed paper smeared with margarine.
