Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. corn syrup
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 c. water
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla

Directions

    Cook sugar, corn syrup, salt and water until a small amount forms a soft ball (234° to 240°) when tested in cold water.

    Take out 1/2 cup of this mixture and cook the rest until it forms a hard ball (250° to 265°) when tried in cold water.
