Dixie Pork Chops

- 8 pork chops
- Crisco shortening or similar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. sage
- 4 tart apples, cored, sliced and peeled
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1 c. hot water
- 1 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1/2 c. seedless raisins
Directions

1Brown chops in hot fat. Sprinkle with salt and sage.

2Place in baking dish. Top with apples and sprinkle with brown sugar.

3Add flour to fat in skillet and blend. Add water and vinegar; cook until thickened.

4Add raisins and pour over chops.

5Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 1 hour or more.

6Serves 8.
