  • 1/2 gal. dill pickles, drained and cut in strips
  • 1 c. vinegar
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 1 generous pinch alum
  • 4 c. sugar

Directions

    Place pickles back in jar (rinsed jar).

    Boil remaining ingredients for 15 minutes.

    Pour over pickles; seal and let stand for 3 days.

    Your pickles will be sweet and crispy.
