  • 3/4 c. cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2/3 c. margarine, melted and divided
  • 1/2 c. boiling water
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. coarsely chopped pecans
  • 2 c. or 12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chunks

Directions

    In a large bowl combine cocoa and baking soda; blend in 1/3 cup melted margarine.

    Add boiling water and stir until well blended.

    Stir in sugar, eggs and remaining margarine.

    Add flour, vanilla and salt.

    Stir by hand until well blended.

    Fold in pecans and chocolate chunks.

    Pour into a well-greased 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from side.
