Double Chocolate Cookies

- 1 1/4 c. butter or margarine, softened
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 3/4 c. cocoa
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 c. chocolate chips
- 1 c. chopped pecans
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2In large mixer bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

3Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt.

4Gradually blend into creamed mixture.

5Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.

6Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.

7Bake 8 to 9 minutes at 350°.

8Do not overbake; cookies will be soft.

9They will puff while baking and flatten while cooling.

10Cool sightly; remove from cookie sheet onto wire rack.

11Cool completely.

12Makes about 4 1/2 dozen.
