- 8 hot dogs
- 4 slices Cheddar cheese
- Dijon-style mustard
- 2 c. flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 4 Tbsp. cold shortening
- 3/4 c. milk
Directions

1Preheat oven to 425°.

2Split hot dogs almost through and fill with cheese.

3Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a mixing bowl.

4Cut in shortening until crumbly.

5Add milk to make a soft dough.

6Knead lightly a few times.

7Roll into a rectangle on a floured surface.

8Cut into 8 rectangles.

9Spread each with a little mustard.

10Wrap each hot dog in dough, tucking in the ends and sealing with a little cold water.

11Place seam side down on a greased baking sheet and bake about 12 minutes, until nicely browned.

12Serves 6 to 8.
