- 2 c. cake flour
- 1/2 c. milk
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 egg
- 1 pinch nutmeg
- 4 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
Directions

1Cream the butter, salt and sugar; add the egg and milk.

2Work in lightly flour and baking powder sifted together.

3Roll out to about 1/4-inch thickness on towel or floured board.

4Cut with a doughnut cutter and fry in Crisco or oil.

5Doughnuts should come quickly to the surface of the fat.

6When browned on one side, turn them over on the other side.

7Drain on unglazed paper and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
