- 2 1/2 qt. water
- 2 pieces smoke ham, cut in 1/2-inch thick chunks
- 1 (16 oz.) bag dried baby lima beans (don't soak)
- 1 medium onion, quartered
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 1 rib celery, sliced
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
- 8 oz. can tomato sauce
Directions

1In a large pot, add water, ham, beans, onion, celery and carrots.

2Cook about 2 hours until beans are tender.

3Reduce heat; add black pepper, salt and tomato sauce.

4Stir and simmer for 30 minutes.

5Makes 8 servings.
