Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 qt. water
  • 2 pieces smoke ham, cut in 1/2-inch thick chunks
  • 1 (16 oz.) bag dried baby lima beans (don't soak)
  • 1 medium onion, quartered
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 1 rib celery, sliced
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
  • 8 oz. can tomato sauce

Directions

    In a large pot, add water, ham, beans, onion, celery and carrots.

    Cook about 2 hours until beans are tender.

    Reduce heat; add black pepper, salt and tomato sauce.

    Stir and simmer for 30 minutes.
