  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/3 c. buttermilk
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. chopped or grated apple
  • 1/3 c. chopped pecans
  • 1/3 c. flour
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 c. butter or margarine

Directions

    Cream 1/2 cup butter or margarine, 1 cup sugar, eggs and vanilla.

    Add 2 cups flour, baking soda and salt alternately with buttermilk.

    Fold in chopped or grated apples (use green apples) and chopped pecans.

    Pour into greased and floured loaf pan. Combine 1/3 cup flour, 2 tablespoons sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon and 1/4 cup butter or margarine.

    Bake at 350° for 55 to 60 minutes.

    Test, cool before cutting.
