- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1 1/2 c. warm water
- 4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- coarse salt
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water using a large bowl.

2Add flour and sugar and gradually pour in remaining water.

3Knead dough until smooth and easy to handle.

4Cover with damp cloth and allow to rise for 20 minutes at room temperature.

5Separate into 12 balls.

6Roll each and twist to shape pretzels.

7Place on greased cookie sheet.

8Coat with beaten egg and sprinkle with salt to taste.
