Ingredients
- 12 extra large eggs
- 3 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 c. warm milk
- 1 lb. margarine or 1/2 lb. butter
- 3 Tbsp. anise seed
- 1 Tbsp. lemon or orange rind
- 2 c. sugar
- about 4 lb. flour
Directions

1Melt margarine or butter in milk.

2Add sugar, just until warm. Dissolve yeast in warm water.

3Beat eggs until light in color, about 10 minutes.

4Add other ingredients, then add enough flour to handle dough.

5Put on bread board and knead the dough.

6Dough will be sticky.

7Oil big pot and top of dough.

8Cover with Saran Wrap, towel and blanket.

9Let rise double the size.

10Punch down and knead about 5 minutes.

11Then put into pans.
-
12Let rise 1 hour.

13Beat egg and brush on top of bread.

14Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes.
