Easy Beef Stroganoff

- 1/2 lb. beef stew meat
- 1/2 stick butter
- 2 to 3 Tbsp. flour
- 1/2 white onion, diced
- 2 1/2 cans sliced mushrooms
- 2 1/2 to 3 c. cold water
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions

1Brown meat in skillet with butter.

2Season.

3When meat is brown; add flour and stir.

4Mix in onion.

5Add canned mushrooms with liquid and water.

6Stir.

7Bring to boil, cover, lower heat and simmer 2 to 2 1/2 hours.

8Check every so often to see when meat is ready.

9Keep stirring lightly so it will not burn.

10If liquid evaporates, add a little hot water.

11Sour cream may be added lastly, if desired.
