Easy Braised Winter Melon

Ingredients

  • 1/4 Winter melon
  • 1 1/2 tsp Chicken stock granules
  • 1 Water (to cover winter melon)
  • 1 piece Ginger
  • 1 teaspoon~ Shiro-dashi (white soy sauce soup stock) or Dashi-jyoyu (stock and soy sauce mixture)
  • 1 Chopped green onion

Directions

    Peel and deseed the winter melon.

    Cut into quarters and slice the quarters into 1 cm cubes.

    Put the winter melon, chicken stock granules and water in a small pot and let it come to a boil (lower to low heat upon boiling)

    Turn off the heat when the winter melon softens, add Shirodashi (white soy sauce soup stock) or dashi soy sauce and let it come to a boil.

    Plate and top with some chopped green onions.
