- 1 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. flour
- 2 (16 oz. each) cans pitted red tart cherries, drained
- 1/4 tsp. almond extract
- 2 Tbsp. margarine
- pastry for 9-inch two crust pie
Directions

1Heat oven to 425°.

2Prepare pastry.

3Mix sugar and flour. Stir in cherries. Turn into pastry lined pie plate.

4Sprinkle with almond extract and dot with margarine.

5Cover with top crust that has slits cut in it. Seal and flute.

6Cover edge with 2 to 3-inch strips of foil to prevent excessive browning. Remove foil during the last 15 minutes of baking. Bake until crust is brown and juice begins to bubble through the slits in crust, 35 to 45 minutes.
