- 5 lb. hamburger
- 3 Tbsp. oil
- 1 large onion, diced
- 1 Tbsp. garlic, finely chopped
- 1 (28 oz.) can whole tomatoes
- 3 c. bottled barbecue sauce
- 3 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. red hot pepper sauce
- 1 Tbsp. cumin
- 4 (15 1/2 oz.) cans kidney beans
Directions

1In a large, heavy skillet, heat the oil.

2Brown the meat in the oil with the onion and garlic.

3Add whole tomatoes, barbecue sauce, chili powder, salt, hot pepper sauce, cumin and kidney beans; mix well. Cover and simmer for an hour, stirring occasionally.

4Serve hot with warm, crisp tortilla chips and, if desired, a side dish of jalapeno peppers.

5Chili tastes best after refrigerating overnight and reheating.
