- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1 egg
- 2 c. milk, scalded
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 4 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
Directions

1Combine shortening and sugar.

2Cream.

3Scald milk and pour into mixture.

4Stir to dissolve.

5Add egg and let cool.

6Mix salt and yeast in one cup of flour and add to cooled mixture.

7Then add 3 cups of flour.

8Set one hour, covered.

9Beat.

10Add additional flour (about 1 cup) to make smooth dough.

11Let rise double in bulk.

12Put in greased pans (muffin tins, two balls of dough).

13Let rise again and bake in moderate oven at 350° until brown.
