Easy Make Dill Pickles

- 40 or more small cucumbers
- 6 heads dill or 3 (2 inch) pieces dill stalks per jar
- 6 cloves garlic, peeled
- 5 thin onion slices
- pinch of crushed pepper
- alum
- 1 qt. vinegar (white)
- 2 qt. water
- 3/4 c. salt (canning)
Directions

1Sterilize 6 quart jars; have lids ready.

2Place 1 head dill, 1 slice onion, 1 clove garlic, pinch of crushed pepper and 1/4 teaspoon alum in each jar bottom, then pack with cucumbers, leaving space at top.

3Bring to boil water, vinegar and salt. Pour over cucumbers in jar while still hot.

4Seal.
