  • 2 lb. stew meat, cut in 1-inch cubes
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 5 carrots, pared and cut in 1-inch pieces
  • 3 potatoes, pared and cut in 1-inch pieces
  • 1 (14 1/2 oz.) can whole tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 1 pkg. dry onion soup mix

Directions

    Coat beef with flour, salt and pepper; toss with oil in a 3-quart casserole.

    Bake, uncovered, at 400° for 30 minutes. Cover and bake at 375° for 2 hours or until meat is tender.
