Easy Pink Applesauce

2 ingredients
10 steps

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs mcintosh apples (one bag at the supermarket)
  • 12 cup creme de cassis

Directions

  1. 1
    Peel, core and slice apples.
  2. 2
(Since the peel is the healthiest part I said to myself you're the boss, applesauce, and went ahead and left on the peel but for texture/presentation like store-bought applesauce you may want to peel your apples.
  3. 3
    ).
  4. 4
Place apples in your crockpot and pour the Creme de cassis over them.
  5. 5
Cook on low for 5-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, or until apples are very tender.
  6. 6
Your home will smell WONDERFUL during this time.
  7. 7
For a chunkier sauce (my recommendation), mash apples with a potato masher.
  8. 8
You can do this right in the hot crockpot.
  9. 9
For a smooth sauce like store-bought versions, puree mixture in a food processor or blender.
  10. 10
Chill, tightly covered, until ready to serve.
