  • 2 cups self rising flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 eggs

Directions

    Sift flour first then measure into mixing bowl, also sift sugar in with flour, add shortening and vanilla and milk.

    Beat this 2 full minutes on medium speed.

    Add 3 eggs, beat 2 full minutes again.

    Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

    Makes 2 good sized layers.

    Frost with 7 Minute Frosting, top with coconut.
