    Heat milk slowly until

    add to egg mixture while beating.

    Sprinkle

    top with nutmeg (if desired). Put pan in hot water in middle of

    oven

    and bake at 350° for 1 hour. Add cooked rice to make rice pudding or add cubes of old bread and raisins for bread pudding.
