  • 4 slightly beaten eggs
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/2 c. scalded milk
  • 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell (less than 1/8-inch thick)

Directions

    Mix first four ingredients well, slowly stir in hot milk., Pour quickly into pie shell. Top with nutmeg.

    Bake at 475° for 5 minutes.

    Reduce heat to 425° for 15 minutes or until knife inserted into center comes out clean.

    Cool on rack, serve cool.
