- 1 c. sugar
- 6 egg yolks, beaten
- 1 Tbsp. melted butter
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. soda
- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 Tbsp. milk
- 4 c. sifted flour
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
Directions

1Gradually stir sugar into egg yolks.

2Add melted butter; beat well.

3Add milk and vanilla.

4Dissolve soda and cream of tartar in milk.

5Add to mixture.

6Combine and add flour, nutmeg, baking powder and salt.

7Drop from doughnut maker into hot fat (370° to 380°).

8Turn once.

9Drain over fryer, then on paper towels. They do not absorb fat.
