- 5 c. self-rising flour
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. Crisco
- 1 c. tap water
- 1 c. milk, scalded
- 2 pkg. Fleischmann's granulated yeast
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/4 c. warm water
Directions

1Sift flour and 1/3 cup of sugar.

2Cut in shortening until it resembles cornmeal.

3Scald milk and add tap water. Dissolve yeast and 1 teaspoon sugar in 1/4 cup lukewarm water.

4Add to flour mixture.

5Add water and milk (when cool).

6Mix well.

7Place dough on floured surface and knead.

8Place back in bowl and let rise until double in size.

9Knead again and refrigerate until ready to use.

10Roll out, shape and let rise 2 to 3 hours.

11Bake at 350° until golden brown.
