- 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar, divided
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
- 1 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
- dash of salt
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. flaked coconut
- 1 c. chopped pecans
Directions

1Combine 1/2 cup brown sugar, butter, flour and dash of salt in a medium mixing bowl.

2Mix until well combined (mixture will look dry).

3Press in bottom of a greased 9-inch square pan.

4Beat eggs until foamy.

5Add remaining brown sugar, 1/2 cup sugar, vanilla and 1/4 teaspoon salt.

6Mix well.

7Stir in coconut and pecans. Spread over layer in pan.

8Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until top is set and lightly browned.

9Cool; cut into 1 1/2-inch squares.

10Makes 3 dozen.
