- 12 lb bacon
- 2 (14 1/2 ounce) cans beef broth
- 12 cup brown sugar (firmly packed)
- 12 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 3 lbs red cabbage (shredded)
Directions

1In a Dutch oven, cook bacon until crisp.

2Transfer to paper towels to drain; crumble.

3Add beef broth, sugar, vinegar, salt and pepper to bacon drippings in Dutch oven.

4Cook over medium-high heat, stirring until sugar dissolves and misture comes to a boil.

5Add cabbage and bring to a boil.

6Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer 30 minutes.

7Transfer to a serving bowl; sprinkle bacon over cabbage and serve hot.
